Manuscript Template

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Pendidikan Karakter (JPKA) must use the official template. The template sets the structure, the heading levels, and the formatting that the editors check at the initial screening stage, and it carries guidance for each section. A manuscript submitted in a different template is returned to the author before review.

① Anonymised manuscript
The file reviewers see. Upload it in OJS as the Article Text. It must carry no author names, affiliations, emails, ORCID iDs, acknowledgements, or funding details.
⬇ Download (.docx)
② Version with author details
The title page at submission, and the final version of the manuscript once the article has been accepted. Upload it in OJS as a Supplementary File.
⬇ Download (.docx)

Both files are Microsoft Word documents. Download both: a submission is complete only when both have been uploaded.

✎ How to Use the Template

  1. Write over the guidance. Text in blue boxes is guidance for authors — read it, follow it, and delete every blue box before submitting. Text highlighted in yellow and enclosed in [square brackets] is a placeholder: replace it with your own content and remove the highlight.
  2. Keep the built-in styles. Use Heading 1, 2, and 3 for headings and Normal for body text. Do not change fonts, margins, or spacing by hand.
  3. Keep the section order. The order of sections in the template is the order required for that type of manuscript.
  4. Write in British English and use it consistently: organise, recognise, analyse, colour, behaviour, centre, programme.
  5. Complete the end matter. Fill in every closing statement in the version with author details. Where a statement does not apply, write “None” or “Not applicable” rather than deleting it.
  6. Anonymise and submit. Prepare the anonymised file using the checklist below, then upload both files.

◯ Anonymisation Checklist

Before uploading the anonymised version, confirm that it contains none of the following:

Where What to remove
On the first page Author names, affiliations, institutional emails, ORCID iDs, and the short biographies.
In the body Self-identifying phrases such as “as we showed in our earlier study”. Replace them with a neutral third-person citation, or with (Author, year).
In the end matter Acknowledgements, funding details, grant numbers, and any ethics approval that names the institution.
In the method The name of a unique school, institution, or work unit. Use a general description, for example “a public primary school in Yogyakarta, Indonesia”.
In the file Author names in the file name, and identifying information in the document properties. In Word, use File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document, then remove document properties and personal information.
⚠ Note. A manuscript that is not properly anonymised is returned to the author for technical correction, which delays the review. Nothing is lost: the details removed here remain in the version with author details.
