Archiving Policy

Jurnal Pendidikan Karakter (JPKA) is committed to the permanent availability of everything it publishes. Articles remain accessible after publication regardless of changes to the journal, its platform, or its publisher.

▣ How the Record Is Preserved

Method What it covers
Journal website Every issue the journal has published, from the first issue onwards, remains available in full text through the Archives on this site.
Institutional preservation The journal is hosted and maintained by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, which provides the platform, regular backups, and technical continuity.
Indexing services Article metadata, and in some cases the full text, are held by the indexing and abstracting services in which the journal is listed.
PKP Preservation Network The journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which preserves the full content of the journal across a distributed network of libraries, independently of this website.
LOCKSS The journal uses the LOCKSS system, which allows participating libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for the purposes of preservation and restoration.

Both the PKP Preservation Network and LOCKSS are dark archives: their copies are not browsed directly by readers, but are held ready so that the content can be restored and made available again if this website ever becomes unavailable. Preservation runs continuously, and each new issue is deposited as it is published.

⟳ Permanence of Published Articles

An article is not removed once published. Where an error is found, the journal issues a correction notice; where the integrity of an article is fundamentally compromised, it is retracted. In both cases the notice is published openly and remains permanently linked to the original article, which stays available so that the record can be understood. The procedure is set out in the Correction and Retraction policy.
