Exploration of Local Wisdom Values Jaran Kepang Dance: A Case Study at Elementary School

This study aims to explore the process of integrating local wisdom values in extracurricular learning of Jaran Kepang dance at SDN Randuacir 3, which is motivated by the impact of globalization and students' low appreciation of traditional arts. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach with a case study method, this research involved dance trainers, students, and extracurricular dance coordinator teachers as research subjects. Data were collected through observations and interviews to analyze dance philosophy, movement meanings, floor patterns, dance design, and local wisdom values integrated in each dance element. The results showed that Jaran Kepang dance is an effective medium in integrating local wisdom values to students. The contribution of this research is to provide a comprehensive documentation of local wisdom values in Jaran Kepang dance that can be used as a reference for the development of traditional dance learning in elementary schools.
