Abstract

This study employs digital content analysis to investigate the transformation of art appreciation through the application of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in art exhibitions. Data were collected from various digital platforms, including social media comments, blogs, and discussion forums, which describe visitors' experiences and interactions with AR-based artworks. Using a qualitative approach through coding processes with Taguette and manual methods, this research successfully identified key themes including aesthetic experience, emotional engagement, and technical challenges in implementing AR. The findings indicate that AR technology can provide an immersive and interactive experience, thus opening up opportunities for innovation in digital art appreciation that is more dynamic and personalised. However, challenges were also found in terms of technological access gaps and the limitations of smart devices, which affect the quality of participants' experiences. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding the changes in art appreciation in the digital age, while also suggesting the need for strategies that harmonise technical and artistic aspects to optimise the potential of AR in the art world.
