Abstract

This study developed a Google Sites-based learning medium to support problem-based learning (PBL) on Animalia and improve digital literacy and student learning outcomes. This study used the ADDIE model and was tested through a non-equivalent quasi-experimental control group design. Participants were 60 tenth-grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan, divided into an experimental class (30 students) using Google Sites and a control class (30 students) using Google Classroom. Data were collected using a digital literacy test and cognitive learning outcomes assessment, and analyzed using MANOVA to test for differences between groups. The developed Google Sites medium was declared feasible after expert validation, featuring structured content, interactive activities, and easy navigation to support PBL. Practicality was confirmed through student and teacher feedback, which indicated that the medium was user-friendly and engaging. MANOVA results showed a significant simultaneous increase in digital literacy and cognitive learning outcomes for the experimental group compared to the control group. This proves that Google Sites-based learning media is feasible, practical, and effective in supporting PBL on Animalia material, and significantly improves digital literacy and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan.
